JEANS

LEVI STRAUSS

  Levi Strauss moved to the U.S. when he was 18. It was during the Gold Rush so Levi went to San Francisco with the hopes of making and selling tents to the miners but the miners didn't need tents they needed pants. Jacob Davis, a tailor, and Levi Strauss teamed up and invented jeans.

FACTS ABOUT JEANS

1. May 20th is the official birthday of jeans.


2. Every American owns an average of seven pairs of jeans. 

3. During World War 2, mens jeans zipped up at the front while women's jeans had the zipper on the right side.

4. Currently the most expensive jeans are Dussault Apparel's Trashed Denim jeans. The jeans cost $250,000. 

5. The word "jeans" comes from the french phrase bleu de GĂȘnes.




21st Century Jeans


   Jeans. They can be worn by anyone are are pretty much worn by everyone. To think jeans went from overalls to what they are now is amazing. Its almost a scary thought to think jeans weren't here since they beginning of time.
  There are so many different kinds of jeans: baggie jeans, boot cut jeans, skinny jeans, ripped jeans, colored jeans, jean shorts, jeans skirts, overalls, etc. etc. Back during the gold rush people wore jeans to work in and now people wear them because they look nice.






The Worlds Largest Pair of Jeans

   The worlds largest pair of jeans was made by China. The jeans were 68 meters long, 35 meters wide, and weighed three tons.

Tips For Wearing Jeans

Punk: Add a studded belt to the jeans.

Girly Girl: Try a top that flows more.

Athletic: To keep your look on the athletic side, put your hair in a high ponytail.
